Munti para kay Leni caravan ride

Let me begin this post by categorically declaring that I was not paid to join nor was I paid to take photos and videos. I did this on my own accord. I think it is time to show support and participate in events that will help ensure that we have proper leadership and governance.

October 23 was announced as the date where there will be a nationwide caravan to show support for Leni Robredo. Supporters were to congregate throughout Metro Manila and throughout the country — Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Pampanga, even in Davao. I learned that there was a “Munti para kay Leni” caravan organized by — obviously — a Muntinlupa group so I decided to participate and take a few pics.

The caravan started at the Filinvest Festival grounds (near Wilson Depot). I arrived by bike at around 8:45 am, just in time to see the caravan begin. Lots of cars with tarps and pink balloons lined the road. The atmosphere was festive. There was a feeling of hope in the air. As we rode along Alabang-Zapote, there were people cheering, clapping, and chanting Leni’s name. Of course, there were the hecklers retorting with Bongbong’s name and declaring themselves as Marcos supporters. The caravan did not mind them. The announcer on the lead pickup vehicle continued to remind the participants to be respectful and civil.

“Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.” — John Stuart Mill
